What I love about marketplace is that I can order, well mostly all that I want, and pay it in one place, and you are secured as a consumer because you can complain and return the order if there’s an issue. It also helps small store owners and those who do not wish to pay for their own e-commerce site to profit online.
The only think I really hate is their logistics.
Just this week, I ordered a set of reviewer from a reputable publishing house, and I received, guess what? SHOES!!!
Apparently, this marketplace isn’t using a door-to-door type of delivery, wherein the store owners send the package to a courier then it gets delivered straight to your home, but those packages goes thru their “sortation centers” then it goes to their (own) delivery service which delivers it to the customer’s home.
So what happens in their sortation centers? Are they the ones who puts the packages in their own (marketplace) packaging? Most likely, since I sent a message to the store owner and told them that they sent shoes, they told that they do not sell shoes and they already sent my order a few days backs.
Is it too much for this marketplace to fix this kind of issue? There’s also other issues like the customer received pistachios and walnuts instead of what they really ordered. A few years back I ordered a USB fan and I got a beverage dispenser.
You can return the package though, it’s either drop it off on a courier service, or have it picked-up. I chose to have it picked-up because of COVID, but until now, it hasn’t been picked-up, even the faulty rice cooker that I received two weeks back is still here.
Since it has been going on for a few years, I do hope they fix it soon. They claim to offer effortless shopping, but this kind of issue is a lot of hassle, if you ask me.
