Is it appropriate to call your customers and ask them to change your online store reviews?
So I bought this cheap phone from an online seller in this marketplace a few weeks back, the phone looks good and all, but when I inserted my SIM card, it’s network locked to China. I contacted the seller via chat (since it’s the only way to talk to the seller), and asked what’s wrong, restarted the phone, sent a screenshot. The seller said I should ask for a refund and I did. After a few days the refund was credited to my account.
Just last night, I was checking the marketplace and was about to give reviews to the orders I made the past few weeks, and noticed that there are now 3 different reviews per order, (1) Product Review, (2) Seller Review and (3) Delivery Review.
For that phone purchase, I gave the product 1 star, since the phone is not working, but gave 5 stars to both the seller and delivery reviews, which is correct, since the phone is not working right? A few hours after I gave the review, the seller is spamming me via chat (I checked this morning), asking me why I gave them a 1 star rating since they already refunded my payment.
This morning, someone called me, asking if I ordered a phone from that marketplace, and I told the girl, that it has been weeks ago, but it was refunded already because it’s network locked. And then she kept asking me to change the review or delete it since they refunded me!
At first, I thought I was talking to a customer representative officer of that marketplace, but it was the seller who directly contacted me via my mobile phone, I told the girl, that my review was correct since the phone’s not working, but the seller and delivery ratings are high, but she really kept telling me again and again that they refunded me already.
If she wasn’t so annoying, that it seems like I should be grateful that they refunded me or at least called me up after lunch, I would’ve gladly removed the review.
And should the seller even have access to our info like phone numbers?
